Election Day Oct 11, 2005
Election Day Found the Liberian People headed for the polls as early as 5 am with some folks sleeping at the polling site! The turn out was very high with 74% of all registered voters exercising their right to vote.
Here they are lined up to vote at 2 of the polling stations in Mopnrovia.

The UNMIL Soliders presence was everywhere though things were very peaceful.

After voting the voter's thumb was marked with ink to show they had voted.

President Carter and the Carter Center were in Liberia along with several other international observers to observe the election process. Everyone agreed that the elections were free, fair, and transparent.
